Meet our presenter in RI: Meadowbrook Waldorf School

Students at the Meadowbrook Waldorf School celebrate May Faire, chasing away the King & Queen of Winter and welcoming the new life of spring.

The presenter for four shows here in Richmond, RI, is the Meadowbrook Waldorf School, a pre-K through 8th grade school set on 28 acres of woods, streams, hillls and glades in the area of Rhode Island known as “South County.”

For 25 years, Meadowbrook has been offering Waldorf education, striving to engage each child  in developmentally appropriate ways, using experience of nature, story, movement, and the fine and practical arts.  Meadowbrook’s academic curriculum is balanced in all grades with foreign language, music and drama.

Meadowbrook students learn circus arts as part of the movement curriculum.  Mastering the unicycle, stilts or juggling requires dedication, teamwork and creative thinking.  Circus skills training gives students the opportunity to find joy in challenging work and with it, the inspiration to follow their dreams. Smirkus seems like a perfect fit.

Beth Riungu, the development director for the school, says Meadowbrook is “thrilled to bring the joy of Circus Smirkus for our local community.”  All funds raised directly event benefit MWS education programs.

The school would like to thank the following sponsors:
