Present a Show

Become a Circus Smirkus Presenter

Watch the video below to meet a few of our presenters and learn about what presenting a Smirkus show can bring to your community and how it can be a fundraising tool for your organization.

★  Present Circus Smirkus As A Fundraiser For Your Organization ★ Our diverse family of Presenters has included nonprofit organizations like children’s museums and parent-child centers; institutions like hospitals and schools; arts presenters; and municipal recreation departments. Anyone can be a Circus Smirkus Presenter!

Why present Circus Smirkus?

Our proven success as a high profile fundraising event and family entertainment works well with the goals and philosophy of our Presenters. The most common reasons given by our Presenters are:

  1. To bring high quality family entertainment to town.
  2. To promote your organization’s mission through the attraction of a circus.
  3. To raise money for your organization.

How does Presentership work?

Presenters pay a flat fee per performance and keep all revenue from ticket sales. In addition, many of our Presenters are able to significantly supplement show income through local sponsor advertising and support. We have Presenters that consistently raise over $20,000 each year.

Our goal is to fill the tent – both to entertain as large an audience as we can reach, and to maximize the benefit for our Presenters.

Startup Costs

Bringing the circus to your town is not only an opportunity to raise money for your nonprofit, but it’s a regional tourism driver: every Smirkus show attracts ticket buyers from surrounding areas to visit the hosting town. That’s good for a local economy.

Sponsorships from local businesses can help offset your initial costs; many of our presenters find businesses who support both the own organization’s social mission AND its effort to bring the circus to their towns. Look also for grant funding opportunities that support bringing arts events into your community.

Circus Smirkus presentations are also eligible for New England States Touring (NEST), a program of the New England Foundation for the Arts. Presenters in MA, ME, NH, CT, and RI are eligible to apply. Eligible Presenters can apply for matching grants to bring Circus Smirkus to their town. Vermont Presenters can also contact the Vermont Arts Council at 802-828-3291 for more information on available grant opportunities.
