Trouper Close-Ups: Dylan Biedrzycki, Jack Miron, and Keiran Sass

Trouper Close-Ups: Dylan Biedrzycki, Jack Miron, and Keiran Sass

Dylan Biedrzycki

Dylan Biedrzycki is a 16 year old Trouper from Merrimack, NH.  This is his 4th year on tour, and he couldn’t be more excited to be apart of Smirkus again!  He began getting involved with circus when he went to see a Flying Gravity show, and felt inspired to teach himself to juggle.  At age 6, Dylan started taking gymnastics and later he joined a Flying Gravity after-school circus program.  He says his favorite acts are ball juggling and acrobatics.  The most challenging part about being on the road for him is, “being away from home and moving every couple days.”  But he says it is all worth it because, “getting to perform and train everyday is pretty cool.”

Jack Miron

Jack Miron is a 19 years old, and is from Bedford, NH.  He is a second year Trouper, and is a graduating senior.  He began his start in the circus world at the Pine Hill Waldorf School, and from there he moved to the Flying Gravity Circus.  There, he trained with a coach that is with us on the 2017 Circus Smirkus Big Top Tour, Jonathon Roitman, along with two fellow Troupers, Dylan Biedrzycki and Keiran Sass.  When asked what his favorite thing to do is, he replied with an enthusiastic, “club juggling, for sure!”  He loves that he gets to hang out and train with everyone, and he says, “the home-stays are a lot of fun as well as doing the shows everyday.  I like all of it!”  He says it can be difficult performing sometimes because the weather can be challenging.  “We either have super hot days where everything is sticky and sweaty, or super rainy and wet days where everything is just soaked and muddy.”  He prefers to perform in the heat, though, because otherwise the mud creates a mess!  In the Fall he will be attending Princeton to major in something science or math related.

Keiran Sass

Keiran Sass is a 17 year old, second year Trouper, and is from Wilton, NH.  He got his start in circus by joining Flying Gravity Circus.  “I started more as a generalist, so there wasn’t really a main focus for me.  Eventually, it ended up morphing into partner acrobatics.”  His favorite act that he is in this year is banquine, “because there is a lot of energy and it really gets the crowd going.”  While on tour, Keiran says his favorite part is going to the different home-stays because it is always someone and something different.  And while the home-stays are fun, he says the hardest part of of being on tour is the lack of rest.  “We do a show, then theres a couple hours, then we have to do another show.  We sleep, and have days off.  But even on our days off, we are still running around and doing things.”  Handwork always pays off!
