A Smirkling is any kid six
to nine years old who needs an easy introduction
to the summer circus camp experience before
leaping in for a full week or two away from
home.
2 Magical Days
Smirkling Camp begins at 8:30 am on Thursday,
June 21 and concludes the following day, Friday,
June 22 with a circus demonstration at 3:30
pm. There is no day camp option
because the overnight stay, a gentle introduction
to sleeping away from home, is an integral part
of the camp experience. In two full days kids
get a real summer Circus Smirkus camp experience,
complete with a theme dinner and pie day.
A Special Sampling
of Skills
Smirklings get a chance to try all the basic
circus skills:
manipulations (scarves and spinning plates –
the precursors to juggling), balance (low wire
and rolling globe), aerials (Spanish Web, Lyra,
and static trapeze), tumbling (acrobatics),
and lots and lots of clowning.
They even get a chance to "pie"
the coaches and counselors!
Of course, our usual strict safety procedures
are always in full force.
Don't delay. Our camps fill
up fast, starting in the Fall. Campers are accepted
on a first-come, first-served basis and some
camps fill quickly, so apply early to guarantee
your place under the Big Top. Register
