Dreams
Really Do Come True
Smirkus Camp is for campers ages 8 to 16 at
beginning to developing skill level.
(For younger campers ages 6 to 9, see Smirkling
Camp.)
Smirkus
Camp Sessions I, II & III are ideal
for kids who are new to circus camp and for
returning campers who want to learn new tricks.
Oh the Fun You
will Have!
Each camp session is a fun-filled introduction
to the circus arts.
No experience is necessary! Campers with previous
circus experience will also find these sessions
challenging as they expand on their skills.
The atmosphere at Smirkus Camp is casual and
non-competitive, but we encourage setting realistic
goals and striving for accomplishment. We emphasize
the concentration and commitment required to
pursue any art form, and the self-discipline
needed to reach goals. Our goal is to
teach circus skills
while providing a unique and meaningful life
experience each child will cherish.
A Day in the
Life
Campers train for 5 hours each full day of camp
(two-week campers take one day off for R &
R). Late afternoon is recreation time with games,
arts & crafts and other traditional camp
activities, followed by free time in the dorms.
Dinner dress for campers and staff is theme-oriented
(super-heroes, Halloween night, etc.; participation
is optional) with awards for the most original
or creative outfits. Evening activities include
movie night, staff talent show, etc. with a
dance on the final night of camp.
One-week sessions end on Saturday morning with
campers giving a demonstration of their skills
to family and friends. The two-week session
ends with a circus show for family and friends
in the afternoon on Friday, the last day of
camp.
Don't delay. Our camps fill
up fast, starting in the Fall. Register
